Tajikistan Conference Yields Insights and Recommendations

About 130 people attended EBL's Tajikistan country conference on November 15th in Dushanbe. 

The event was well attended by Tajik governmental officials, members of parliament, civil-society leaders and representatives of the Tajik National and Islamic universities.

The Results of the Scientific and Legal Appraisal of the Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Access to Justice for Women and Children

 

In November 2012, within the scope of “Equality Before the Law” programme the results of the scientific and legal appraisal of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on access to justice for women and children were presented with respect to their compliance with the international conventions: Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women and Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Results of Innovative Projects Implementation by Kazakhstan Non-Profit Organizations within the Scope of “Equality Before the Law” (EBL) Programme

 

The objective of the “Equality Before the Law” programme is to facilitate access to justice for vulnerable social groups, including rural women, children and young people of the risk group, people with reduced capabilities, minorities, migrants, HIV positive people, and people in custodial institutions. To increase the scope of influence of the “Equality Before the Law” programme within Kazakhstan small grants were distributed within the scope of the programme for innovative projects of non-profit organizations which deal with problems of vulnerable social groups in different regions of Kazakhstan. For several months of their activity EBL grant receivers managed to make their contribution to achievement of the common objective.
